Stop. Rewind.

May 26th, 2010

So I was too annoyed to post about it last week, but I didn’t get that job.

Bummer.

So, as a big fuck you to Florida, I’m heading home to Jersey next week to see my momma and sister (who is home from college–she lives in Chicago). The idea sparked because my mom has an idea for a screenplay/book, but she can’t write her way out of a paper bag–unlike yours truly–so I’m going to go up there so we can outline everything together and she can tell me her stories (based a true story type of deal).  I was also looking forward to getting out of this good awful heat, only to find that it’s hotter in Jersey than it is here.  I plan on getting into the city at least one day while I’m there, since a) it’s the best place EVER, and b) I want to see my brother in Hoboken (for you non-city folk, its where you board the path train or ferry to get to the island).

This week started off pretty well though.  I had my first “on camera” day in class and realized I memorize really fucking well.  I’m not a huge fan of how I look on camera; I think my nose looks weird, but whatever. My teacher isn’t one for compliments and told me I use my eyes really well and something about seeing into my soul–whatever the hell that means.  Her critiques were all good ones, just stuff I’ll fine tune with time and practice. Then I got messaged by someone on the Tampa Film Network who asked me to come in for an audition for his short film.  Say wha? He said it was all right I didn’t have experience, so I’ll be going Saturday morning. I doubt there’s pay, and right now since I’m on unemployment, I don’t want to get paid!  I just want to get a good demo reel built up right now.

Oh I went there…

…and I’m not ashamed.

I’m hoping the background looks all right, because the clouds were a pain in the ass to line up to repeat.  I couldn’t get a good eclipse like the movie poster, so I used the ribbon from the book (for those who don’t know, click here.)  This won’t be a permanent layout, just until the movie comes out on June 30th.  Then we have to wait an entire year and a half for Breaking Dawn, because that doesn’t start to film until late fall/early winter.  Bah.

Haven’t heard from the job yet, and I’ve decided if I don’t get it I’m just going to find a temp job, because this is ridiculous.  And I want to write–and stop just saying I’m going to write, but really actually do it.

I just really want to know what the hell is going to happen next…
