Productivity

March 15th, 2010

It feels like the job search has come to a screeching halt.  Sending the job I had been waiting to hear back from a sly touch base e-mail. I’m pretending I may go out of town but want to make sure it doesn’t “conflict” with their interview process.

As for deciding to do something with my day (and not sit around in my PJs as I have this past week), I went around the entire greater Clearwater area looking for a Wii/Wii Fit, but they are sold out.  Best Buy, Target, Walmart. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. Lovely.  I’ve decided to do that instead of the gym because the one here is shitty.  I have a mini gym in my complex with an elliptical, and I’ll do everything else on Wii Fit.  There’s also a place that does pilates per class I can go to if needed.

Another thing I decided to do is sign up to volunteer at the Sunscreen Film Festival (get it? Sundance, sunscreen…Florida, haha funny funny). I haven’t heard back or anything, but I figured it would be cool to see the indies–they’re my new thing–and maybe meet some people.   I thought it would be only really small films, mainly local, but they posted the films today.  They star Jenna Fischer (The Office),  Michael Weatherly (NCIS and is REALLY HOT), Chris O’Donnell, Chloë Sevigny… um COOL!! A bunch of the films were even at Sundance. It’s in April and I really hope I get to go.

Speaking of festivals, South by Southwest is this week.  My cousin’s an actor (like a real working actor, haha) and gets to go so he had VIP all access passes and free hotel room for the week.  Of course the ticket from Tampa to Austin, TX was like $500, plus the money I would have to spend (I’d need to spend some) it wasn’t feasible to go.  I’m super bummed because of course I find out that Ashley Greene, my girl crush, is there. Her indie, Skateland, is being viewed sometime this weekend and she went to the Skateland party tonight.  Sigh.

It’s Oscar Night

March 8th, 2010

Being the celebrity junkie I am, of course I’m big into the award season. I cheat though, and DVR it so I can fast forward through not only the commercials, but the categories no one cares about (Best make up? Sound editing? Here’s a hint Academy: We don’t care, present them off air). The amusing thing about this years nominations is that I didn’t even know half of them. There were no best supporting actors being talked about on the gossip line, so I didn’t even know Matt Damon and Woody Harrelson were nominated (props to Christoph Waltz because Inglorious Bastards rocked). Even George Clooney on the red carpet said Jeff Bridges had best actor on locked, so between the two I didn’t really care about the others. Was there any question that Up would win for best animated film? C’mon now.

I knew the best supporting actress nominees only because Anna Kendrick was nominated and I heart her. How gorgeous was her dress?

Alas, I knew it was a long shot for her to win. I haven’t seen Precious, but I heard Mo’Nique’s performance in it was amazing. We still love you, Anna!  As for best actress, yeah I knew them, but I hadn’t seen any of the movies. I knew Sandra Bullock was a supposed shoe-in though. Her speech was really sweet.

As for nominated best films, I don’t think it matters that they went from five to ten because the only two being talked about were Avatar and The Hurt Locker (same for best director).  Sure, that’s mainly because of James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow being ex-spouses.  By the way JC, if you haven’t noticed yet, you were owned this year. Regardless of how futuristic and fantastic Avatar was to look at, that’s all it was (to me at least).  The indie project won out over the huge blockbuster.

My highlight, of course, was seeing my future husband, Taylor Lautner, and my favorite indie girl, Kristen Stewart, present an award.  Kristen definitely isn’t the best public speaker… monotone was putting it lightly, but Taylor was looking hawt.

I’ve been writing this as I’ve been watching, and as usual, the show ran over the three hour mark.  I can name two dozen ways to make the show less boring and not so long (was a montage of horror films really necessary?), but they seem to enjoy doing it this way.  I’m just kind of annoyed because I would have planned it perfectly to start the DVR at 10:30 and end at 11:30 (yes, I fast forward through a lot), but nooo I had to sit through commercials and speeches I didn’t care to hear (*coughJeffBridgescough*).  Well, that’s enough of my banter.  Night all!

Difficult Decision

February 16th, 2010

You know when you’re in PetsMart on the weekend and they have all of those adorable puppies out for adoption and it’s like a cuteness overload and you can’t pick just one?

Here’s the Hollywood version, except instead of wanting to cuddle with them, I’d prefer them in my bed in compromising positions.

Hot Boys

Of course if I had to choose it would be Kellan.  I have to stay loyal to my Twilight loves.
