Sunscreen Recap

April 21st, 2010

So Sunscreen 2010 has come and gone, and it was amazing.  I met the coolest people and learned so much about the film industry.  It’s really gotten me interested in it.  The difference at SFF was that these people pull together whatever money they possible can to make these movies because it’s what they love to do.  The art in these movies is incomparable to any studio films you’ll ever see; the rawness, the hard work.  It’s really touching.

I did get to meet Patrick Wilson, who I must mention is about ten times hotter in person.  He was really chill and had no arrogance about him at all.  I met Ethan Suplee who was actually surprising shy, and John Travolta was there too, although I didn’t get to me him, he was also very quiet.  Met the two Twilight actors.  Ayanna Berkshire actually came up to me and complimented me on my dress. Solomon Trimble…ugh, no comment.

I got to go to the awards ceremony, which meant I got to go buy a dress — and it was gorgeous.  It fit me like a glove and was just amazing.  I felt like I could be walking a red carpet. Man I sound vain, don’t I?  Well, I’ve already admitted to that, so whatever.  This picture doesn’t do it justice; hopefully I’ll be able to get a hold of the pro photographer that was there and get those pictures.

I’m keeping in touch with a bunch of people from locals to some New Yorkers down for a visit. It was four days of about ten hour work days, plus the parties afterwards, and the after parties following those parties — but that was all worth it.  If I’m around next year, I’m definitely doing it all over again.  For sure.

I’m off to Orlando tomorrow to spend the 2010 football draft with my friends!  God, I miss them!  I tried to do a mock draft last year, but the Raiders screwed that all up, so I’m not even attempting this year.  Now that I have the Android app for WordPress I should be able to update from the road!
